Description
A corner joint between thin sheet metal members where one or both edges have been flanged to form the corner. The flanged edges are fused together, often without filler metal.
In plain English
One or both sheets have their edge bent to form a corner, and you weld along that corner. On thin sheet, you just melt the flanged edges together with TIG, no filler needed. This is how a lot of stainless steel kitchen equipment, enclosures, and decorative metalwork gets assembled. Gives a clean corner without the bulk of a fillet weld.
Symbol position
Flanged corner indicator on the reference line.
